KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak-based laundromat brand myDobi has officially launched  its first outlet in Peninsular Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in its decade-long journey from Miri to Kuala Lumpur.
 The new outlet at Medan Connaught in Cheras introduces Malaysia’s first fully digital laundromat, reflecting the company’s focus on innovation, technology and customer experience.
 The move signals myDobi’s confidence in expanding its footprint while maintaining the same service quality that built its reputation at home.
 Chief executive officer Sheila Sim Geok Hwa described the Kuala Lumpur launch as a defining step forward, celebrating a decade of growth and collaboration with local and international partners.
 “We’ve grown from a small-town brand in to a nationwide network by staying true to our core values of reliability and innovation.
 “Every new outlet & is not just a business, but a partnership with the community,” she said during the opening ceremony.
 Sim expressed gratitude to collaborators CS Laundry and Almapro, which have long supported the brand since its early days.
 She also thanked Dexter Laundry from the United States, myDobi’s latest investor and technology partner, for helping bring the company’s digital vision to life.
 “Without Dexter, this would not have been possible. This is Malaysia’s first truly digital laundromat, no coins, no tokens, just technology.”
 Dexter Laundry president Amanda Konczal, who travelled from the US for the launch, said she was drawn to myDobi’s clear vision and pioneering approach in the industry.
 “When we first met myDobi, their slogan ‘Be Different’ really stood out. They were not just building another laundromat, but a whole new way of doing business.”
 Konczal added that Dexter Laundry, a 131-year-old American manufacturer of commercial-grade
laundry machines, sees strong growth potential with myDobi across Asia.
 “Their vision for a fully digital, cashless experience shows how far ahead they are thinking.”
 Sim s aid myDobi’s expansion into Kuala Lumpur marks the start of a broader plan to strengthen its presence nationwide and tap into new markets.
 “With more than 50 operational staff supporting outlets nationwide, myDobi plans to open 100 outlets in Kuala Lumpur by 2026.
 “This business offers a good passive income opportunity for investors who want to make their
money work for them.
 “Our team takes care of operations while investors enjoy sustainable returns.”
 Sim also noted that myDobi is moving into wet cleaning technology and expanding its smart & laundromat systems, designed to operate efficiently with minimal manpower through digital automation.
 “Our goal is to make our business smarter, greener and m ore efficient so that our investors can grow with us confidently.”
 As myDobi enters its next decade, the company plans to grow across Peninsular Malaysia and eventually into international markets, staying focused on reliability, innovation and community.
